Embassy Grants $40,000 to NGO Transforming Lives in Fiji

The Chinese Embassy in Suva has provided a $40,000 grant to Inspire Pacific, an NGO dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children and fostering community growth in Fiji.

Zhou Jian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Fiji, presented the grant cheque to Ben Morrison, Co-Founder of Inspire Pacific. The funds will aid the organization in initiatives such as the TAGANE MAI Rehabilitation & Integration Program aimed at empowering young lives.

During the presentation, Ambassador Jian highlighted the significant contributions of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection under the Coalition Government in advancing women’s rights, child protection, and the welfare of vulnerable populations. He expressed the Embassy’s honor in supporting the Ministry’s Child Rehabilitation and Wellbeing program to enhance the lives of Fiji’s citizens.

Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection, Lynda Tabuya, who hosted the event, thanked the Chinese Ambassador for the generous donation. She emphasized that the grant would provide essential resources and support for Inspire Pacific’s rehabilitation programs for at-risk children.

Tabuya also praised Inspire Pacific for their dedication to creating a nurturing environment for children in need of rehabilitation and integration support.

Inspire Pacific’s efforts align with the Ministry’s mission to establish a Child Rehabilitation and Well-being Centre, offering care and protection to at-risk children, juveniles, and young street dwellers affected by drug abuse and crime.

This grant will bolster Inspire Pacific’s work in providing crucial support for at-risk youth, guiding them through structured rehabilitation, personal development, and successful societal reintegration.

The organization’s comprehensive approach combines practical training, emotional support, and community engagement to help individuals overcome challenges and build better futures.
