“Elevating Bilateral Relations: Fiji and Tuvalu Prime Ministers Discuss Collaborative Framework”

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka welcomed a courtesy call from Tuvalu’s Prime Minister Feleti Teo. This marks their first meeting since Teo’s appointment earlier this year. Rabuka expressed Fiji’s support for Tuvalu’s initiative to establish a community facility for the growing Tuvaluan population in Fiji.

The two leaders discussed the strong historical ties between their nations. Prime Minister Teo highlighted the connections between their economies and praised the contributions of Fijians working in Tuvalu as teachers, nurses, and doctors.

They discussed the increasing bilateral relations and cooperation in key areas such as education, health, agriculture, climate resilience, and connectivity. Both leaders committed to enhancing their relationship through a potential framework agreement covering all areas of cooperation.

Prime Minister Teo’s visit to Fiji underscores their shared dedication to addressing current and emerging issues through elevated collaboration.
