A 75-year-old woman is being treated at Labasa Hospital following a violent robbery and assault that occurred in her home on Siberia Road last Sunday night. Her injuries were discovered by a neighbor who found her the next morning, covered in blood and suffering from facial bruises.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, confirmed the incident, stating that an investigation is underway. “A report was received whereby an elderly woman was allegedly assaulted in her home by an unknown person,” ACP Driu noted. He assured that a dedicated team has been assigned to the case with the aim of apprehending the responsible individual.
Details indicate that the elderly woman was alone during the attack, and authorities are currently working to identify her assailant.
