Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka officially inaugurated a new hall at Saint Francis College in Ra today, in a ceremony that underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure. The hall was constructed with funding from the Office of the Prime Minister, amounting to $47,881.52, as part of the Small Grants Scheme.

During his address, Mr. Rabuka emphasized the transformative power of education, urging students to strive for success and to remain dedicated to their studies. He voiced his concern over the increasing rates of drug abuse and HIV infections among youth, urging students to stay focused on their educational goals and to avoid falling into negative influences. “Do not fall into this trap—focus on your studies and work hard to build a better future,” he counseled.

This message aligns with prior statements made by Mr. Rabuka in other educational contexts, where he has consistently highlighted the necessity for young people to pursue quality education to successfully navigate societal challenges. In his previous engagements, he has stressed the importance of community involvement and parental support in combating social issues, including drug abuse.

Through initiatives like the opening of the hall at Saint Francis College, the government aims to foster a more conducive learning environment for students. Such developments reflect a hopeful future where education plays a pivotal role in addressing societal challenges faced by young people today.

The Prime Minister’s ongoing efforts to prioritize education and youth welfare indicate a comprehensive approach to strengthening the nation’s educational framework, aiming not only to equip students with knowledge but also to enhance their resilience against societal pressures.
