Education Minister Aseri Radrodro recently held a meeting with Heads of Secondary Schools in the Western Division to discuss preparations for the 2025 academic year. The gathering aimed to address the challenges currently faced by both students and teachers while exploring strategies to enhance academic performance.

During the meeting, Radrodro underscored the necessity of teamwork, creative teaching methods, and increased involvement from parents and the community to foster better educational outcomes. He reviewed the results from the 2024 Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination and identified specific areas that require improvement.

School leaders actively participated in the discussion, offering their perspectives and suggesting collaborative solutions aimed at overcoming obstacles to learning. The Minister’s approach aligns with his previous initiatives advocating for school leaders to work with the Ministry in enhancing academic results, especially in schools with low pass rates.

Radrodro has consistently emphasized the significance of setting clear academic targets and fostering an environment of accountability, encouraging educators and stakeholders to engage cohesively in the pursuit of improved student performance. This proactive stance reflects a hopeful outlook for the educational landscape, with an emphasis on collaboration paving the way for academic success in the coming years.

This initiative not only aims to uplift academic standards but also to reinforce a supportive community framework around students’ learning experiences. With the commitment from school leaders and the ministry, there is a promising potential for positive transformation in Fiji’s education system.
