About 300 youths from the World Harvest Centre in Suva celebrated Easter Sunday with an impressive dramatization depicting the resurrection of Christ. This annual performance has become an integral part of the church’s Easter observances, attracting worshippers from across the capital city.

Youth leader Mosese Seru noted that the vibrant production was the culmination of more than a month of hard work and dedication, stating, “It took us five solid weeks, a month and a week to prepare for this production.” The performance focused on conveying the essential message of Easter, emphasizing Christ’s sacrifice and resurrection, encapsulated in Romans 5:8, which highlights God’s love shown through Christ’s ultimate sacrifice.

Mr. Seru reflected on the enduring inspiration that Christ’s love and sacrifice bring, uplifting lives within the community. This sentiment aligns with broader themes observed during Easter, where various community performances stress similar values of love and redemption. For instance, youth groups from different denominations have also been showcasing their artistic expressions around Easter, such as the dramatic interpretation of Good Friday by the youth of St. Pius X Catholic parish, which mirrored the heartfelt messages shared during the World Harvest Centre’s presentation.

These dramatic reenactments and the active participation of young people in spiritual celebrations not only enrich local faith practices, they also create an opportunity for reflection within the community. Such engagements are vital as they foster a sense of unity and compassion, resonating deeply with the themes of hope that Easter symbolizes in both local and global contexts.

The Easter celebrations across Fiji reinforce a collective spirit of collaboration and community support, which are pivotal for addressing the social challenges faced today. Embracing these values can lead to healing and renewed connections, ultimately inspiring individuals to embody kindness and generosity beyond the holiday season.
