The Police Chief is urging officers to contemplate the profound significance of Easter as they fulfill their duties in maintaining law and order. In his Easter message, Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu emphasized the essential values of selflessness, duty, and pride in the police uniform.
Tudravu highlighted the necessity of fostering public trust and accountability within the police force. He stated, “There is a lot of demand that is out there that needs the service of a police officer. So, I have been encouraging them to give their all, as we wear the uniform, have pride in that uniform; we are paid by the community, the public, we should deliver too.”
In his message, he issued a stern warning against corruption and illegal activities, emphasizing that any misconduct within the ranks undermines the integrity of the force. The spirit of Easter, marked by sacrifice, serves as a reminder for police officers to strive for excellence in enforcing law and order.
Tudravu’s call for reflection resonates with previous sentiments he shared during his recent divisional tour of the Eastern and Western Divisions. On that tour, he recognized the challenges faced by officers, especially in rural areas, and expressed appreciation for their dedication, particularly during important occasions when they continue to serve despite personal sacrifices. His leadership aims to uplift officers and strengthen community relations, reflecting a hopeful vision for the future of the Fiji Police Force.
Tudravu’s focus on loyalty, integrity, and public service underscores not only the importance of the officers’ roles but also inspires a stronger, more engaged police force committed to the safety and wellbeing of the communities they serve.
