The Eagles women’s volleyball team achieved victory in their opening match at the X9 Nakasi tournament held in Nakasi, winning in two sets. This team consists of young women from the Raiwai community.
Team member Ulamila Cirikisuva expressed that their main objective is to unite young people and foster connections among them. She noted that sporting events like this one can help reduce the chances of children engaging in inappropriate activities in their neighborhoods.
Cirikisuva stated, “The main aim of the team is to gather young youths and help us bond to prevent kids from going around and doing things that they are not supposed to do.” She thanked the event organizers for hosting the competition, which embodies the spirit of friendly competition and inspires local youth interested in pursuing sports careers.
“Thank you, organizers, for planning this competition giving the community kids to bond and create a career path for those who love the sport,” she added.
The Eagles are looking forward to more opportunities to play volleyball, aiming to inspire their community and showcase their skills.
