Drunk Driving Dangers: Two Accidents, One Day

A 37-year-old man from Lautoka is currently in police custody following an accident caused by his alleged driving under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred on Sukanaivalu Road, where the man lost control of his vehicle and struck a 40-year-old account clerk who was standing by the roadside. The injured clerk has been admitted to Lautoka Aspen Hospital for treatment.

In a separate incident on the same day, another 37-year-old man from Kuku, Bau, Tailevu, also lost control of his vehicle. While driving along Knolly Street, he veered off the road and crashed into a concrete retaining wall. This man, too, was found to be under the influence of liquor and is receiving treatment at CWM Hospital.

Authorities are currently conducting investigations into both accidents to gather further details.
