A collaborative operation by the Police Mobile Force, the Fiji Detector Dog Unit, and the Divisional Operations team led to significant progress in combating drug-related crime in the Nadonumai area. During a raid today, three individuals were apprehended for allegedly possessing illicit drugs.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu shared that the joint task force was initiated to execute two separate raids, with one uncovering items believed to be marijuana, stolen electronics, and equipment purportedly used for packaging illegal substances.
The three men taken into custody are currently held at the Lami Police Station as investigations are ongoing. ACP Driu emphasized the importance of disrupting criminal activities during the festive season. He noted that these proactive operations are crucial for applying pressure on drug networks. Public awareness and cooperation are also vital, as he encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activity by contacting Crime Stoppers at 919.
This operation highlights the commitment of local law enforcement to maintain community safety and to curb drug trafficking, potentially leading to a more secure environment during the holiday season. The collaboration between different units underscores the effectiveness of teamwork in fighting crime. As individuals in the community work alongside authorities, there is hope for a stronger, united front against drug-related issues.
