A team from the Joint Serious and Organised Crime Unit, comprising officers from Suva and the West, conducted a raid in Nadi on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of five men suspected of being involved in the illegal drug trade.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, reported that various sachets containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine and dried leaves thought to be marijuana were confiscated during the operation.

The confiscated substances have been forwarded for analysis as investigations proceed, and the five suspects are currently in custody.

Additionally, several arrests were made in the previous week involving individuals suspected of selling various illegal drugs across the five policing divisions.

The Fiji Police Force appreciates the community’s assistance in providing information that leads to arrests and drug seizures, and encourages anyone with information to contact 917 or Crimestoppers at 919.
