Authorities in the Northern Division have made significant progress in their fight against illegal drug possession, resulting in the arrest of several individuals connected to drug offenses. This operation, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu, has been enhanced by the deployment of specialized units, including the Police Mobile Force and the Fiji Detector Dog Unit.
ACP Driu emphasized that the focus remains on disrupting the drug supply chain through strategic initiatives such as farm raids, cleanup operations, and targeted actions against distributors. The collaboration between the police and the community has played a crucial role in the success of these operations, highlighting the increasing public support for efforts to combat drug-related issues.
In a recent surge operation, five men aged between 20 and 30 years were apprehended. Authorities also recovered items believed to be stolen during the raids. Investigations are ongoing as police continue their efforts to dismantle drug operations in the region.
This concerted approach not only aims to reduce drug-related offenses but also strengthens community safety and well-being. With growing engagement from local residents, there is hope for a brighter future in the Northern Division as collaborations deepen to create drug-free environments.
