Drug Crackdown Intensifies Amid Holiday Surge

Authorities are ramping up their efforts to tackle drug-related activities amid heightened mobility associated with school holidays, festivals, meetings, and conferences.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu has issued a stern warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade, emphasizing that law enforcement will catch them.

Recent searches in Kadavu have led to significant drug findings and arrests for illegal drug possession.

ACP Driu encourages the public to provide any relevant information through the hotline 917 or Crime Stoppers at 919 to aid in the fight against drug-related issues.

To bolster efforts, K9 operations are being conducted with support from the New Zealand Police under the Fiji Police Partnership Programme, enhancing the capabilities of Fiji Police’s Dog Patrol in conjunction with the Fiji Revenue and Customs Service.
