Three individuals were apprehended yesterday for drug-related offenses during distinct police operations in the cities of Lautoka and Nadi.

The first incident involved a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man residing in Duna Place, Nadi. The Police K-9 Unit conducted a stop along Waiyavi in Lautoka, where they discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance, suspected to be methamphetamine.

In a separate operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was arrested after authorities uncovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. Further investigation led to a raid at his residence, conducted by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit in collaboration with the Police K-9 Unit, where additional marijuana seedlings were found.

All three suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation unfolds.

This situation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the region, a commitment that serves to protect the community and discourage illegal drug use. With continued vigilance and public cooperation, there is optimism that the prevalence of such offenses can be reduced, fostering a safer environment for residents.
