Three individuals were apprehended yesterday for drug possession during separate police operations conducted in Lautoka and Nadi.

The first incident involved a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old resident of Duna Place in Nadi. They were approached by the Police K-9 Unit while on Waiyavi in Lautoka. In the course of the search, authorities uncovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.

In a separate operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was taken into custody after officers discovered marijuana seedlings in his possession. A follow-up raid at his residence, conducted by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit, led to the recovery of additional seedlings thought to be marijuana.

The three men are currently being held in police custody as investigations are underway.

This situation highlights the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement to combat drug-related issues, and the use of specialized units such as K-9 officers reflects a proactive approach in maintaining community safety. It’s a reminder that vigilance against drug-related activities is crucial in fostering a healthier environment for all.
