Drug Busts and Bribery: A Weekend of Arrests Unveiled

Over the weekend, multiple drug-related arrests were carried out for illegal possession and cultivation of prohibited substances.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations Livai Driu reported that a 31-year-old man was apprehended in Caubati after authorities discovered clear plastic bags containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Additionally, ACP Driu mentioned that the suspect is under investigation for bribery, as he allegedly attempted to bribe a police officer during his arrest.

Further arrests involving white substances thought to be methamphetamine occurred in Samabula and Sigatoka, leading to the detention of four men.

Arrests linked to marijuana were made in various locations including Korovou, Tailevu, Lautoka, and Sigatoka. In a separate incident in Karoko, over 100 marijuana plants were seized in relation to unlawful cultivation.
