Three individuals were apprehended yesterday on charges related to the possession of illegal drugs. The Police K-9 Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Waiyavi, Lautoka, where they searched a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old resident of Duna Place in Nadi Town. During the search, the K-9 Unit discovered two clear plastic bags containing a substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
Additionally, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver from Cunningham was arrested after police found young plants believed to be marijuana in his possession. Following this, a team from the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) alongside the Police K-9 Unit executed a raid at the driver’s home, where they uncovered more seedlings suspected to be marijuana.
All three suspects are currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing.
