Three men suspected of participating in the sale and distribution of illegal drugs were apprehended during separate operations yesterday.

Assistant Commissioner of Police – Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that the first operation was carried out by the Nausori Crime team in Raralevu, resulting in the seizure of over 50 zip lock bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, along with 15 sachets of dried leaves thought to be marijuana. Two men, aged 53 and 29, were taken into custody in connection with this raid.

Additionally, ACP Driu noted that in the Western Division, a 46-year-old man was arrested in Solovi, Nadi, after being found in possession of more than 170 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana. The suspect is currently in custody as investigations are ongoing.

ACP Driu emphasized that law enforcement will intensify efforts against those involved in the distribution and sale of illegal drugs, particularly as historical trends indicate that such activities tend to spike during major social and sporting events.
