In separate operations conducted yesterday, three men suspected of being involved in the distribution and sale of illegal drugs were arrested.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police-Operations (ACP) Livai Driu, the first operation took place in Raralevu, where the Nausori Crime squad seized over 50 zip lock bags containing white crystals believed to be methamphetamine, along with 15 sachets of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.

Two men, aged 29 and 53, were taken into custody and are currently under investigation.

In another incident in the Western Division, a 46-year-old man was arrested in Solovi, Nadi, where police discovered more than 170 sachets of dried leaves, presumed to be marijuana, in his possession.

The suspect remains in police custody as investigations are ongoing.

ACP Driu emphasized that due to historical patterns of drug pushers and dealers targeting significant social and sporting events, police will intensify efforts to combat the distribution and sale of illicit substances.
