Three individuals were arrested yesterday for drug-related offenses in separate police operations conducted in Lautoka and Nadi.

A 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place, Nadi, were intercepted by the Police K-9 Unit while they were traveling along Waiyavi, Lautoka. Upon searching their vehicle, officers discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance, which is suspected to be methamphetamine.

In another operation, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was taken into custody after officers found marijuana seedlings in his possession. A follow-up raid at his residence, carried out by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit along with the Police K-9 Unit, yielded additional seedlings believed to be marijuana.

The three men are currently in police custody as investigative efforts are ongoing.

This situation underscores the continued efforts of law enforcement in combating drug trafficking and ensuring community safety. While the circumstances are serious, they also highlight the proactive measures taken by the police to address drug-related issues in the region. Community awareness and cooperation can play a crucial role in supporting these initiatives and contributing to a safer environment for everyone.
