Three individuals were taken into custody yesterday in connection with drug possession. The Police K-9 Unit conducted a vehicle stop along Waiyavi in Lautoka, where they searched a 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man from Duna Place in Nadi Town. During the search, the K-9 Unit discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
In a separate incident, a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) driver from Cunningham was arrested after police found seedlings believed to be marijuana on his person. Following this arrest, the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU) and the Police K-9 Unit executed a drug raid at his residence, uncovering more seedlings thought to be marijuana.
All three suspects remain in police custody as investigations are ongoing.
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related activities, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining public safety.
