Seven individuals were apprehended during a drug raid in Waqadra, Nadi, on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations (ACP) Livai Driu reported that authorities confiscated several zip lock bags containing crystals believed to be methamphetamine, along with another zip lock bag filled with a white powder thought to be cocaine. Additionally, more than $300 in cash, presumed to be proceeds from criminal activities, was also seized.
ACP Driu informed that other arrests for illegal drug possession took place over the past week in various locations, including behind the Labasa market, Tomuka in Lautoka, Dreketi Settlement, Varadoli in Ba, Nasivi Street in Tavua, Nanuku Settlement, and Samabula.
This coordinated effort by law enforcement showcases their dedication to tackling drug-related issues in the community. It is hopeful that continued operations like these will contribute to a safer environment and reduce the prevalence of drug misuse.
