A collaborative team from the Joint Serious and Organised Crime Unit based in Suva and the West carried out a raid in Nadi on Thursday afternoon, resulting in the arrest of five men suspected of participating in drug-related activities.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime, Mesake Waqa, reported that multiple sachets containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine, as well as dried leaves thought to be marijuana, were confiscated during the operation.
The collected substances have been forwarded for analysis, and the investigation is ongoing while the five men remain in custody.
In addition, several other arrests were made last week of persons suspected of distributing green and white drugs across the five policing divisions.
The Fiji Police Force is grateful for the information shared by the public that has led to these arrests and encourages anyone with further information to contact them at 917 or reach out to Crimestoppers at 919.
