Three individuals were apprehended yesterday for drug possession during separate police operations conducted in Lautoka and Nadi.
A 26-year-old mechanic from Sabeto Central and a 32-year-old man residing at Duna Place in Nadi were intercepted by the Police K-9 Unit along Waiyavi in Lautoka. Upon searching their vehicle, officers discovered two clear plastic bags containing a white substance, which is suspected to be methamphetamine.
Additionally, a Public Service Vehicle driver from Cunningham was arrested after officers found marijuana seedlings in his possession. Following this, a raid on his residence by the Fiji Dog Detector Unit and the Police K-9 Unit led to the discovery of more marijuana seedlings.
All three men are currently in police custody as investigations are ongoing.
In light of these arrests, it’s important to recognize the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related offenses in the community. Such operations not only target individual offenders but also aim to disrupt the larger networks involved in illegal drug trade, which can lead to healthier and safer neighborhoods.
