Two individuals who arrived at Port Mua-i-Walu this morning aboard a shipping vessel have been taken into police custody on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs. The search, conducted by the Fiji Police Force in collaboration with the Fiji Dog Detector Unit (FDDU), led to the discovery of suspected marijuana.
A 39-year-old farmer was found with branches of dried leaves believed to be marijuana, while a 26-year-old man, currently unemployed, was also discovered with similar dried leaves. Both men remain in police custody as investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the situation.
This incident highlights the continuous efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and ensure the safety of the community. As the investigation unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and immediate action against illegal activities.
For the community, there remains hope that these events will contribute to greater awareness and preventive measures against drug-related issues in Fiji.
