The Fijian Drua rugby team is currently on a pre-season camp in Kadavu, focusing on team bonding and preparing for the upcoming 2025 season. Nacani Cawanibuka, head of athletic performance for the Drua, emphasized that this four-day trip represents a significant investment by the management, aimed at fostering a strong connection among squad members.
As part of their bonding activities, the team and staff recently painted the ablutions block at Namalata Central School, following a boat race earlier in the week. Cawanibuka expressed that this initiative is an innovative way to build camaraderie within the team and create lasting memories. He stressed the importance of teamwork and the significance of giving back to the community during this pre-season effort.
Cawanibuka noted that such collaborative projects not only strengthen the team but also allow players to relax and engage in meaningful conversations. He hopes that this experience will lay a solid foundation for the Drua’s performance in the 2025 season, promoting a culture of unity and resilience among the players.
The Drua team and management are set to return today, bringing with them valuable lessons in teamwork and community engagement.
This initiative highlights the importance of community involvement and teamwork in sports, showing that building relationships both on and off the field can lead to greater success in the future.
