Caleb Muntz has secured the fullback position for the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua in their upcoming match against the Highlanders this Saturday as part of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. His return to the starting lineup indicates Head Coach Glen Jackson’s strategy of employing multiple playmakers to counter the resilient defense of the Highlanders.
Notably, the Drua will be without both of their captains, Frank Lomani and Tevita Ikanivere, paving the way for hooker Meli Dolokoto and outside center Iosefo Masi to take on co-captain duties. Additionally, fullback Vuate Karawalevu will also be unavailable for this game.
Dolokoto will lead a strong front row alongside Haereiti Hetet and Mesake Doge, while Zuriel Togiatama, Samuela Tawake, and returning player Peni Ravai will be ready on the bench. In the back row, Isoa Tuwai is designated to wear the jersey number seven with Joseva Tamani on the blindside and Elia Canakaivata at number eight.
The playing strategy will see Simione Kuruvoli starting in the halves alongside Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, with Isikeli Rabitu and Phillip Baselala poised to make an impact off the bench.
The match against the Highlanders is scheduled to kick off at 7:05 PM, and fans are hopeful that the combination of Muntz’s talent, new leadership, and a cohesive team effort will bolster the Drua’s performance and bring a positive result. The anticipation surrounding this matchup reflects both the supporters’ enthusiasm and the squad’s determination to rise to the challenge.
