Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Head Coach Glen Jackson is making significant changes to his squad ahead of their Round 12 match against the Queensland Reds in Suva. In a bid to enhance the team’s performance and spark their attack as they approach the conclusion of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season, Jackson has named Vuate Karawalevu at outside centre and shifted Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula to fullback.

The lineup also features Kemu Valetini at flyhalf, who will partner with Simione Kuruvoli at scrumhalf. This new combination aims to strengthen the Drua’s offensive play. Anticipating a competitive clash, Jackson has opted for a forward-heavy 6-2 bench split, which includes co-captain Tevita Ikanivere among the reserves and experienced tight-head Mesake Doge leading the side from the front row.

In the forward pack, Peni Ravai starts at loosehead prop, supported by Doge at tighthead and Zuriel Togiatama as the hooker. The locking positions see Mesake Vocevoce and Isoa Nasilasila, while the loose forwards comprise Etonia Waqa, Isoa Tuwai, and Kitione Salawa.

The backline retains wings Taniela Rakuro and Selestino Ravutaumada, with the midfield pairing of Inia Tabuavou alongside Karawalevu. The substitutes will consist of Ikanivere, Haereiti Hetet, Samu Tawake, Leone Rotuisolia, Joseva Tamani, and Elia Canakaivata, completing the roster for the match.

Kick-off is scheduled for 2:05 PM at HFC Bank Stadium, which also hosts the Vodafone Fijiana’s first international Test of the year against the Wallaroos later that day.

In light of recent performances, this match presents a pivotal opportunity for the Drua to capitalize on their home ground advantage and potentially turn their season around. With a blend of experience and fresh talent on display, the team aims not just for a win, but to also uplift their supporters’ spirits and generate momentum for the remainder of the season. Fans are invited to rally behind their team as they seek to reinforce their fighting spirit and ambition in this competitive league.
