The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have announced significant changes to their line-up as they prepare to face the Hurricanes in Round 2 of Super Rugby Pacific 2025, implementing 15 alterations from last week’s squad. This strategic revamp comes after a narrow defeat to the ACT Brumbies, with head coach Glen Jackson aiming to bolster the team’s performance.
In the forward pack, Emosi Tuqiri makes his debut for the season at loosehead prop, flanked by veteran Mesake Doge at tighthead and Zuriel Togiatama as hooker. In the lock positions, Mesake Vocevoce partners with Isoa Nasilasila, while Meli Derenalagi and Motikiai Murray fill the flanker roles alongside Elia Canakaivata at number 8.
The backline sees captain Frank Lomani returning at half-back, teaming up with Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, who will be starting at fly-half for the first time this season. Taniela Rakuro is back from injury, taking the left wing position, with Junior Ratuva on the right. Making his Super Rugby Pacific debut at inside centre is Inia Tabuavou, accompanied by the versatile Tuidraki Samusamuvodre outside him, and Ilaisa Droasese completing the starting line-up at full-back.
On the bench, the Drua will have Mesulame Dolokoto as backup hooker, alongside Peni Ravai, who is making his debut in Drua colors at loosehead. Meli Tuni will cover tighthead, while Leone Rotuisolia and Kiti Salawa bolster the lock and loose forward positions. Peni Matawalu and Caleb Muntz are set to provide cover in the half-back and fly-half roles, respectively. Iosefo Masi rounds out the squad as backline utility.
