The Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua is gearing up for a crucial match against the Western Force in round four of Smartech Super Rugby Women. Head Coach Ifereimi Rawaqa has placed his trust in Kolora Lomani, who will take the reins as flyhalf, stepping in for Salanieta Kinita, who is currently undergoing a Head Injury Assessment. This decision showcases the depth and adaptability within the squad as they prepare for this important clash.

Returning to the starting lineup is centre Josivini Naihamu, alongside Evivi Senikarivi. Salanieta Nabuli, who clinched the winning try in last week’s matchup, is featured in the starting 15, complemented by captain Vika Matarugu in the tighthead position and Keleni Marawa at hooker. The team is further strengthened with Merevesi Ofakimalino partnering with Asinate Serevi, and Nunia Daunimoala at blindside flanker, while Salaseini Railumu will play openside flanker.

Lomani’s pivotal role at flyhalf, along with a dynamic backline featuring Senikarivi at fullback and Merewairita Neivosa on the left wing, adds tactical versatility. The right wing will see Repeka Tove, while Naihamu and Vice-Captain Vitalina Naikore form an experienced midfield partnership. Luisa Tisolo will also contribute to the starting lineup.

Rawaqa has assembled a strong bench to provide a powerful impact during the match, with Loraini Senivutu as backup hooker, and Anasimeci Korovata and Tiana Robanakadavu as versatile props. The bench also includes Alfreda Fisher as lock cover and Bitila Tawake, known as the Tropik Wood Top Tackler, to back up the loose forwards. Setaita Railumu is ready to cover halfback, and Ema Adivitaloga is prepared to step in for the inside halves, while Alowesi Nakoci completes the squad as backline utility.

The match represents a vital opportunity for the Drua to secure a win that could bolster their standing in the competition. The increasing visibility of women’s rugby in the region is igniting excitement among fans, with the team hoping to inspire the next generation of female athletes. As the season progresses, the Drua Women’s dedication and strong performance promise potential success and community engagement, marking a bright future for women’s rugby in Fiji.
