A week later, on March 15, the Drua Women will face the formidable Brumbies Women in a standalone game, ensuring another captivating Saturday afternoon at Churchill Park.
In preparation for the season, the Fijian Drua Women will kick off against the Waratahs in Sydney on February 28 and will close the regular season with an away match against the Western Force at HBF Park in Perth on March 23. The semi-finals for Super Rugby W are scheduled for the weekend of April 5, with the top two ranked teams hosting. The Grand Final will take place on April 12, while the crossover final between Super Rugby Women’s and Super Rugby Aupiki champions will occur on April 17.
Mark Evans, the chief executive officer of Fijian Drua, expressed aspirations to reclaim the championship title, having previously won the Super Rugby Women for two consecutive years in 2022 and 2023, and finishing as runners-up in 2024. He acknowledged the challenges ahead as the team undergoes a rebuilding phase with a new interim head coach focused on developing a deeper roster of players.
Moreover, Evans highlighted the substantial investments made in facilities during the off-season to ensure the Drua Women have the best preparation possible for the upcoming season. Hosting two matches in Fiji is an exceptional opportunity for fans, who will be eagerly supporting their team during the double-header event, particularly with the Drua Women competing on International Women’s Day. Efforts are already underway to make this day a memorable experience for fans.
