The 2025 Super Rugby Women’s season is set to be an exciting one for the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women as they prepare to reclaim the championship title they previously held for two consecutive years. Facing tough competition, their journey will begin with a match against the Waratahs at Allianz Stadium in Sydney on February 28.

Highlighting their home matches, the Drua will host two significant games at Churchill Park in Lautoka, starting with a showdown against the Reds on March 8, which coincides with International Women’s Day. This double-header event will begin at 1:05 PM, followed by a match between the Drua Men and the Chiefs at 3:30 PM. A week later, on March 15, they will compete against the Brumbies, also at 3:30 PM, in a standalone match.

This season will introduce a historic Super Rugby Champions final where the winner of Super Rugby W will face the champion of New Zealand’s Super Rugby Aupiki. The semi-finals for the league are scheduled for the weekend of April 5, with the Grand Final taking place on April 12, followed by the crossover final on April 17.

Mark Evans, CEO of Fijian Drua, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming challenges, noting their ambition to return to the winner’s podium, especially after a strong performance in prior seasons. He also acknowledged the rebuilding phase the team is undergoing under a new interim head coach focused on developing player depth. Significant investments in training facilities during the off-season aim to equip the Drua Women for success, ensuring they are well-prepared as they enter the season.

The organization’s commitment to creating a memorable experience for fans, particularly during the match on International Women’s Day, highlights the importance of community engagement and support in women’s sports. This not only offers a competitive outlet for the Drua Women but also promotes the growth and recognition of women’s rugby in Fiji.

Overall, the 2025 season promises to be an exhilarating journey filled with competitive spirit, community interaction, and opportunities to celebrate women’s achievements in sports, inspiring future generations of female athletes.
