The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has launched an exciting new initiative called the Drua Matavuvale Membership, aimed at enhancing the connection between the club and its supporters based in New Zealand ahead of the 2026 Shop N Save Super Supermarket Rugby Pacific season. This exclusive membership opportunity will be revealed during the Drua’s trial match against the Chiefs at Mount Maunganui this Friday, marking the team’s first contest of the upcoming season.
Capped at only 100 members and priced at NZ$100 per person, the Drua Matavuvale Membership promises a unique and culturally immersive experience for its participants, reinforcing the club’s deep affinity with its overseas fanbase. Fijian Drua’s General Manager of Commercial Operations, Shane Hussein, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, highlighting the passion and commitment of Drua supporters across the Tasman Sea. He explained, “Matavuvale” translates to family, underscoring the intent of this membership to unite their New Zealand supporters with the essence of the club.
Each member of the Drua Matavuvale program will receive an exclusive membership pack that includes a branded hat and a personalized certificate of recognition. In addition, the names of the inaugural members will be displayed prominently on a dedicated page of the Drua’s website. Members will also benefit from access to a private WhatsApp group, which will offer exclusive content and provide direct interactions with the coaching staff.
Beyond the tangible items, participants will have the chance to engage with Drua players and join the broader Drua family, along with exclusive deals and discounts from the club’s sponsors. In a gesture that emphasizes the club’s roots, members will receive a unique promo code to buy home game tickets in Fiji for their friends and family during the season, subject to availability.
Moreover, all inaugural members will be honored on the Drua Matavuvale Wall of Fame at the Drua Base in Nadi, recognizing them as the very first supporters in this initiative. Additionally, one lucky member will receive the Ultimate Drua Member Experience through a special prize draw, which includes return flights for two to Fiji, accommodation, airport transfers, and a behind-the-scenes match day experience.
As the Drua prepares for its second pre-season match against the Skipper Select side on the 6th of next month at Churchill Park in Lautoka, this new membership initiative represents a proactive effort to engage fans and solidify the community bond that the club prides itself on. This innovative approach not only fosters a sense of belonging but also enhances the overall fan experience, setting a hopeful tone for the upcoming season.
