The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has bid farewell to three key players who are embarking on new overseas contracts. Centre Apisalome Vota, prop Jone Koroiduadua, and second-five Michael Naitokani will not be participating in the team’s upcoming 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.
Vota and Koroiduadua were both original members of the Drua, with Vota notably making 25 appearances for the club, while Koroiduadua contributed with 20. Naitokani joined the team in 2023 and played in 11 matches during his time with the Drua.
Head Coach Glen Jackson expressed gratitude to the players for their significant contributions, wishing them success in their future endeavors.
This transition, while challenging for the Drua, opens doors for new talent and opportunities within the team. The departure of these players can be viewed as part of the natural evolution of the sport, allowing the organization to rebuild and cultivate a fresh roster that may bring in exciting new players with the potential to shine on the field.
