Swire Shipping Fijian Drua head coach Glen Jackson has announced a fresh lineup ahead of their match against the Waratahs in the 2025 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season. With several key players sidelined due to injuries, including co-captain Frank Lomani, Jackson has opted for significant changes to the starting 15 in a bid to reverse the team’s fortunes and end their recent losing streak.

The Drua will be defending their home ground at Churchill Park in Lautoka, and the anticipation builds as fans hope to see a rejuvenated side. Veteran prop Peni Ravai returns at loosehead, joining Mesake Doge at tighthead and co-captain Mesulame Dolokoto at hooker in the front row. Isoa Nasilasila and Leone Rotuisolia will make up the locking duo, while in the back row, Etonia Waqa is set to return at blindside flanker. Motikiai Murray will play openside, and Elia Canakaivata will retain his spot at number eight.

In a strategic move, Simione Kuruvoli will start at halfback paired with Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula at flyhalf. On the wings, Ponipate Loganimasi and Taniela Rakuro will provide pace, with Tuidraki Samusamuvodre in the inside center role and Iosefo Masi at outside center. Isikeli Rabitu will round out the backline as fullback. Jackson has also added Leone Nawai to the matchday squad as halfback cover and Kemu Valetini to strengthen the flyhalf position from the bench, along with other reserve players offering depth across various positions.

This revamped squad reflects Jackson’s focus on maintaining player performance and fitness, essential in the face of a demanding competition schedule. The Drua’s depth and adaptability will be tested as they face their traditional rivals, the Waratahs, who have been formidable opponents in the past.

The match is set to kick off at 2:05 PM on Saturday, and viewers can catch all the action live on FBC Sports. As the Drua step onto the pitch, their ability to harness the support of their home crowd will be pivotal, and there’s a palpable sense of hope that this combination of experience and fresh talent will translate into their first win of the season.
