Forwards coach Chris Gibbes has pinpointed the need for reinforcement in two key positions: No.6 and No.8. However, he confirmed that they wouldn’t be shifting Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta, known as ‘Big T’, into these roles as they have other options in mind.
The team has welcomed back notable flanker Joseva Tamani, following a brief period with French club Colomiers. The 27-year-old is seen as a valuable asset, having made 13 appearances for the Drua in the 2022 season. Tamani is celebrated for his agility and speed on the field, attributes that make him a strong contender for one of the two positions they aim to fill.
In addition, young talent Isoa Tuwai has emerged as a player to watch. Currently part of Suva Rugby in the Skipper Competition and Farebrother, Tuwai has had an impressive journey, evolving from inside centre to flanker.
