The Fijian Drua rugby team has revealed an exciting new partnership with renowned Australian sunglasses brand, Carve. This collaboration comes through the Drua’s existing relationship with Jack’s of Fiji, which will see all players and staff for both the Men’s and Women’s teams outfitted with high-quality Carve sunglasses as they prepare for the upcoming 2025 Shop n Save Super Rugby Pacific season.
Shane Hussein, the General Manager Commercial for the Fijian Drua, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating that it adds to the already strong relationship with Jack’s of Fiji. He emphasized how the sunglasses will not only enhance the players’ appearance but also provide essential protection against the intense western sun, whether they are training or engaging with the community.
Matt Whyte, the International Director of White Room, shared his excitement about being the official sunglasses sponsor for the Drua teams. He reflected on his connection to Fiji, noting that the country feels like a second home to him after many visits. He expressed a desire to give back to the community that has been so welcoming to him.
Nikul Khatri, Director of Jack’s of Fiji, also shared his thoughts on the partnership, stating that as the official distributors of Carve sunglasses in Fiji, they are delighted to have Carve as the official eyewear sponsor for the Drua Rugby Team. He praised Carve for its reputation for delivering stylish, high-performance, and affordable eyewear, aligning perfectly with the Drua brand both in Fiji and internationally.
This partnership not only highlights the increasing support for the Fijian Drua but also illustrates a growing commitment to community engagement and athlete welfare. It’s a positive development for both the team and the local economy, as more partnerships like this can lead to increased visibility and support for Fijian rugby on global platforms. Overall, it’s a hopeful reminder of how sports can foster valuable relationships and bring communities together.
