The Fijian Drua has bolstered its off-field operations by appointing seasoned business leader Josefa Vanuaca as its new head of sales. This newly established role aims to integrate ticketing, hospitality, and sponsorship services, as the club prepares for an exciting new season while enhancing its connection with fans.

Vanuaca’s appointment comes in the wake of the departures of former team members Biu Tadranu and Lailanie Burnes, who played crucial roles in the club’s early development. With over 15 years of expertise in business development and finance, Vanuaca is well-equipped for this responsibility. He holds a Commerce degree in Accounting and Information Systems, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change.

Previously, Vanuaca was associated with New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, and Shane Hussein, the Drua’s General Manager Commercial, expressed enthusiasm about Vanuaca joining the team during a significant period of growth. He emphasized that Vanuaca will collaborate closely with the head of marketing and fan experience, Angie Lal, to make Drua events more accessible for fans and corporate clients.

Vanuaca expressed his pride in taking on this role, stating, “Super rugby has been a big part of my life, and it’s a dream to be part of it through Fijian Drua. This is a proud moment for me and my family.”

This change is a positive step for the Fijian Drua as it not only aims to improve fan engagement but also strengthens its operational framework in preparation for future successes. This restructuring is likely to create more opportunities for innovation and fan involvement, which is essential for the growth and sustainability of sports organizations.

Overall, this fresh leadership marks an optimistic trajectory for the Drua as they strive to connect with their community and elevate the fan experience.
