Swire Shipping Fijian Drua CEO Jeff Miller has announced that revenue generated from broadcast and streaming rights is being strategically reinvested into the club to bolster its framework and ensure long-term success. Miller emphasized that any profits made are funneled back into critical areas such as player development pathways, facilities, coaching staff, and the overall welfare of the players.

A key aspect of the Drua’s strategy is retaining as many local players in Fiji as possible. This vision aims to build a sustainable foundation for success while nurturing homegrown talent. “Anything that we do, if we do happen to make money each year, it’s reinvesting into the pathway programs, facilities, coaches, and, in fact, the players,” Miller stated, affirming the club’s commitment to investing back into its core elements.

While acknowledging that some players might pursue opportunities overseas, Miller expressed a positive outlook regarding the Drua’s long-term vision. He noted efforts to attract experienced players back to Fiji, enhancing the team’s depth and leadership. Strong revenue streams are viewed as vital for supporting this objective, ensuring the Drua remains competitive both in the present and future seasons.

As the team prepares for their second preseason match against the Skipper Cup Select team this Friday, excitement builds within the club. The match will be contested for the Sunbell Trophy at Churchill Park in Lautoka, starting at 4 PM, and fans can catch the action live on FBC Sports.

This proactive approach by the Drua, focusing on reinvestment and player retention, not only supports the local community but also cultivates a promising future for the club in the competitive landscape of rugby.
