Swire Shipping Fijian Drua co-captain Frank Lomani has made it clear that the upcoming match against the Hurricanes in Lautoka will not be influenced by the weather conditions, despite heavy rain forecasted for the day. Lomani expressed confidence in the team’s ability to adapt, stating that they are prepared for whatever the elements might bring.

For the Drua, the focus is less about having ideal playing conditions and more about embracing the challenge, regardless of whether they face scorching heat or torrential rain. “Hail, rain or shine, we will still turn up. This is rugby, this is us. Conditions will never go the way we expect, but we’ve got to adapt to it. We play rugby in heavy rain and in the heat as well. Nothing new to us,” he noted.

Lomani highlighted the importance of being adaptable in the sport, especially in Fiji where weather can change rapidly. He emphasized that playing in adverse conditions is something the Drua have experience with, and they take pride in their ability to perform under such pressures.

In addition to tactical preparation, Lomani shared an appreciative message for the Drua’s fans, both locally and abroad. He acknowledges the crucial role of the fan base in motivating the team week after week, expressing, “To our fans here and abroad, these are the things that we really appreciate. The whole club is our fan base. We are the world’s best fans.”

With the Hurricanes visiting, Lomani anticipates an intense showdown, but he remains optimistic that the lively atmosphere in Lautoka will bolster the Drua’s performance. He called upon supporters to fill the stands and create an electrifying environment that the team thrives on.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:35 PM, with fans able to catch the live action on FBC Sports. This game is set to be a test of resilience for the Drua and an exciting display of rugby for both players and supporters.
