The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua have taken significant steps toward a successful 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season by organizing a pre-season training camp on Kadavu. The camp, held at Namalata Central School, focused on team bonding and strengthening connections among players and staff, as well as engaging with the local community.

Naca Cawanibuka, the Head of Athletic Performance, emphasized that the main goal of the camp was to foster unity within the team. The players participated in a boat race and collectively painted the school’s ablution block, activities designed to promote camaraderie and teamwork. Cawanibuka expressed that these shared experiences would add to the team’s identity and enhance their performance for the upcoming season.

He noted the importance of building memories and maintaining a positive atmosphere as the year concludes. Cawanibuka believes that such collaborative projects not only strengthen relationships within the team but also contribute to their overall mental well-being. By engaging in hands-on tasks like painting, players can relax and connect with one another, laying a solid foundation for the Drua team.

Having concluded their activities on Kadavu, the Drua are now on a well-deserved Christmas break, ready to return rejuvenated for the challenges ahead.

This initiative highlights the Drua’s commitment to team spirit and community involvement, positioning them to enhance their dynamics and cultivate a strong foundation for a successful season to come. The focus on unity and personal connections among team members is a hopeful sign that the Drua are investing in a brighter future for their franchise.
