Swire Shipping Fijian Drua utility back Tuidraki Samusamuvodre has signed a two-year contract extension to stay with the club through the next Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific campaigns in 2026 and 2027.
The 27-year-old Namotomoto native from Nadi has been with the Drua since their 2022 inception, already making 20 appearances and earning the Drua Community Champion of the Year award for his grassroots rugby work and community engagement.
Speaking after agreeing to the deal, Samusamuvodre thanked God and the coaching staff and said he was eagerly looking forward to “exciting times ahead.”
This year proved to be a breakout season for the versatile back, with 10 strong performances that impressed coaches and fans alike and underscored his growing influence in the squad.
Drua General Manager of Rugby, Baden Stephenson, praised Samusamuvodre’s work ethic, resilience and commitment, describing him as “a terrific ambassador of the Drua values and everyone he represents.”
Samusamuvodre is known for his versatility, primarily operating as a No. 10 but capable of contributing across the backline. He has also overcome adversity, having battled back from an ankle issue that required rehabilitation, and his return has been a key storyline in the Drua’s 2025 campaign.
