Swire Shipping Fijian Drua co-captain Tevita Ikanivere and standout lock Isoa Nasilasila are set to etch their names in history as they prepare to make their 50th appearances for the Drua this Saturday against the Queensland Reds at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. This significant milestone underscores their remarkable durability, as they have collectively missed only eight matches over the last four years, highlighting their vital roles in the team’s performance and consistency.

Head coach Glen Jackson has expressed confidence in the squad, naming a strong starting lineup that includes flanker Motikiai Murray, who returns after a short-term injury. The front row will feature Haereiti Hetet at loosehead, Samuela Tawake at tighthead, and Ikanivere himself at hooker. The locks will see Nasilasila paired with Mesake Vocevoce, while the back row consists of Etonia Waqa at blindside flanker and Murray at openside, with Kitione Salawa playing at number eight.

The backline will showcase promising young talent with Philip Baselala starting at halfback and Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula at flyhalf. The wings feature Taniela Rakuro and the fast-rising rookie Ponipate Loganimasi, with Tuidraki Samusamuvodre and Iosefo Masi at inside and outside centre, respectively. Selestino Ravutaumada, a fan favorite, will anchor the backfield at fullback.

For impact off the bench, Zuriel Togiatama will serve as backup hooker, while Peni Ravai and Mesake Doge provide prop support. The bench also strengthens the locks with Joseva Tamani and features Elia Canakaivata backfilling the loose forward trio.

As the Drua look to solidify their cohesion and aim for success in the ongoing Super Rugby Pacific season, fans are filled with hope and anticipation. This match not only celebrates personal milestones for Ikanivere and Nasilasila but also stands as an opportunity for the entire team to demonstrate their collective growth and resilience. The blend of experience and youthful spirit within the lineup gives an optimistic outlook for the future of the Drua as they face tough rivals.
