Jack Mesley, the chief executive of Super Rugby Pacific, is eagerly anticipating the upcoming matches featuring the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, who will host the ACT Brumbies in Ba for the first time in this season’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. In a recent interview with Times Sport in Auckland, Mesley expressed excitement about how the soccer-enthusiastic town will embrace this event at the newly developed 4R Electrical, Govind Park.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing how Ba goes this year with the Drua playing the Brumbies at a new stadium,” Mesley stated, emphasizing the significance of the match set for March 14 at 3:30 PM.

The match marks a continuation of high-profile sporting events at Govind Park, which previously hosted the 2025 FMF Inter-District Championship, attracting an impressive turnout of 13,118 fans on its final day last October. The park will also welcome another Drua home match against the Highlanders on March 21.

Mesley praised the Fijian Drua for their growing prominence on the international stage, noting their strong presence throughout Fiji. “The first thing you notice when you arrive in Fiji is just how present the Drua is,” he remarked. This was especially evident during his visit last year to watch a Drua game at Churchill Park in Lautoka. Mesley highlighted the visibility of the Drua brand through sponsorships and advertisements across the region, showcasing the franchise’s integration into local culture.

He elaborated on the electric atmosphere during match days in Suva at the HFC Bank Stadium and in Lautoka, commending the fans for bringing vibrant energy to the games. “They do a great job of the match-day experience, but the fans bring so much of that energy and they are so passionate,” he noted.

As the season commences, the Drua will kick things off against Moana Pasifika on February 14 at Churchill Park, setting the stage for what promises to be an exciting season. With community support and a growing fan base, the future looks bright for the Fijian Drua as they aim to make their mark in the Super Rugby Pacific.
