The Fijian Drua Blue team triumphed in the inaugural Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament, securing the title by defeating Fijian Drua Green 14-5 in a competitive final held at King Charles Park in Nadi. The victory showcased the talent within the Drua set-up, as notable players such as Emosi Tuqiri, Vilive Miramira, and Jack Volavola helped propel Drua Blue to success.

Throughout the tournament, both Drua teams faced tough challenges from various provincial sides. Malolo Rugby emerged as a formidable opponent, managing several wins but eventually succumbing to Drua Green in the final pool match and then to Drua Blue in the semifinals. Drua Green, meanwhile, clinched their spot in the semifinals by overcoming Nadroga with a close 12-7 victory.

One of the standout moments of the tournament was the unexpected defeat of Drua Green by Nadi Rugby, who won 5-0 in the final pool match, demonstrating the unpredictability and competitive spirit of the tournament.

Fijian Drua Head Coach Glen Jackson emphasized the importance of such tournaments for player development, stating that these matches offer valuable experience against strong Skipper Cup teams. This opportunity not only enhances player skills but also fosters team cohesion and competition at higher levels.

In summary, the Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament not only highlighted the exciting rugby talent in Fiji but also served as a crucial platform for player development. The competitive environment promises to contribute to the growth of rugby in the region, with hopes for future tournaments sparking even greater interest and participation in the sport.

This victory and the competitive nature of the tournament provide a hopeful outlook for the future of Fijian rugby, as emerging talents continue to gain exposure and experience on a larger stage.
