Drua Bids Farewell to Key Players: What’s Next?

The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has bid farewell to three of its players who have secured overseas contracts. Centre Apisalome Vota, prop Jone Koroiduadua, and second-five Michael Naitokani will not be participating in the team’s upcoming campaign for the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.

Vota and Koroiduadua are original members of the Drua, boasting 25 and 20 appearances for the club, respectively. Naitokani joined the Drua in 2023, contributing with 11 appearances during his time on the team.

Coach Glen Jackson expressed gratitude for the three players’ contributions to the club and wished them well in their future endeavors. His acknowledgment highlights the positive impact they had on the team and the camaraderie that exists within the Drua organization.

While it is always challenging to say goodbye to valued team members, the departures of these players can also be seen as an opportunity for new talent to emerge and step into their roles, potentially strengthening the team in long-term.
