The Fijian Drua and Pacific Fishing Company Pte Limited (PAFCO) have partnered to announce the first-ever Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament, set to take place next month. This event is part of a three-year sponsorship agreement, establishing the tournament as an annual highlight for the next three years.

Mark Evans, Chief Executive of the Fijian Drua, expressed his enthusiasm in welcoming PAFCO, a well-respected brand in Fiji for over 50 years. He acknowledged the company’s significance to the local economy and its pivotal role in Fiji’s community, declaring gratitude for their support towards Fijian Drua.

Similarly, PAFCO Chief Executive Saiyad Raiyum shared his excitement about the partnership, looking forward to contributing positively to Fijian Drua rugby and supporting the teams in the Super Rugby Pacific competition. He emphasized their pride in becoming the nutritional partner for the Drua, aligning the Sun Bell brand with this important sporting event.

The Sun Bell Drua 10s tournament will feature eight teams, including two from the Drua and six provincial representatives. Pool A will consist of Fijian Drua Blue, Yasawa Rugby, Nadroga Rugby, and Lautoka Rugby, while Pool B includes Fijian Drua White, Malolo Rugby, Nadi Rugby, and Ba Rugby. Additionally, the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women’s team will participate in two internal matches.

The tournament is set to unfold on December 13th at Prince Charles Park in Nadi, promising an exciting day of rugby for fans and players alike.

This initiative not only highlights the growing support for rugby in Fiji but also reinforces the community ties between local businesses and sports teams.
