The Challenge Group of Companies actively participated in community welfare by organizing a morning tea with the Fiji Cancer Society in Nadi yesterday. As part of their corporate social responsibility efforts, the company also presented the society with a vehicle to aid their operations.
Salesh Kumar, CEO of Automart—part of the Challenge Group—expressed the desire to foster a long-term partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society, seeing the donation as a timely enhancement to their services. He stated, “This will improve their reach to the vulnerable and marginalised population.” Kumar emphasized their intention to collaborate with various non-governmental organizations and entities dedicated to serving the community.
Belinda Chan, CEO of the Fiji Cancer Society, described the support as a significant breakthrough for their organization. The new vehicle will facilitate their outreach efforts from Sigatoka to Tavua, enabling them to better serve the 332 patients they currently assist in those areas. Chan expressed her gratitude towards Automart’s managing director, Suresh Patel, for the generous donation, underscoring the collaborative spirit in the fight against cancer. She asserted, “This ensures that we leave no one behind and we will fight this (cancer) together.”
This initiative showcases the power of corporate engagement in social causes and reflects a hopeful narrative of support and collaboration in the community for those affected by cancer. The commitment of the Challenge Group and the Fiji Cancer Society to work hand-in-hand can significantly impact the lives of many, illustrating that together, there is strength in addressing health challenges.
