In a commendable display of corporate social responsibility, the Challenge Group of Companies organized a morning tea with the Fiji Cancer Society in Nadi, where they also donated a vehicle to assist the organization. Salesh Kumar, CEO of Automart, which operates under the Challenge Group umbrella, expressed a desire to develop a long-term partnership with the Fiji Cancer Society.
Mr. Kumar emphasized the importance of this contribution, stating it would significantly enhance the society’s ability to reach out to vulnerable and marginalized populations, thus improving their service delivery. He affirmed their commitment to collaborating not only with the cancer society but also with other NGOs and organizations actively involved in community development.
Belinda Chan, the CEO of the Fiji Cancer Society, described this support as a dream realization. The new vehicle will facilitate their operations, enabling the society to extend its services from Sigatoka to Tavua and support the 332 patients currently under their care. The vehicle will allow for visits to inland communities, ensuring they have access to vital cancer services.
Ms. Chan praised Suresh Patel, the managing director of Automart, for this generous donation, reinforcing their joint commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight against cancer.
This initiative highlights the power of partnership between corporate entities and community organizations, underscoring the vital role businesses can play in uplifting health services and supporting local populations. The vehicle donation marks a hopeful step forward in the fight against cancer in Fiji, enabling greater outreach and support for those in need.
Overall, this collaboration serves as a reminder of how businesses can positively impact society, fostering an environment of care and collaboration in the face of health challenges.
