Driving Change: Asco Foundation’s Key Donation to Combat Diabetes

The Asco Foundation has made a significant contribution to Diabetes Fiji by donating a 4×4 Hilux vehicle, aimed at tackling the increasing concern of diabetes within local communities. At the vehicle handover last week, Ronald Kumar, CEO of Asco Motors and trustee of the Asco Foundation, emphasized the importance of this donation as part of their commitment to community health and well-being.

Kumar recognized the vital role that Diabetes Fiji plays and expressed pride in supporting their mission. The new vehicle will enhance their outreach capabilities, enabling health screenings and vital education on diabetes management. Its 4×4 capability ensures that Diabetes Fiji can traverse both urban and rural areas, addressing the needs of underserved populations who may lack access to healthcare resources.

Taarvish Akbhar, board chair of Diabetes Fiji, expressed gratitude for the support from Asco Foundation, stating that the vehicle will be crucial in advancing their goal to educate and assist those dealing with diabetes. He noted that it would help them extend their services to communities, ultimately improving the quality of life for many individuals.

The contribution aligns with Asco Foundation’s ongoing commitment to community support, as part of their broader initiative to promote health and wellness. Kumar further stated that corporate responsibility involves a dedication to creating healthier communities, and collaborations with organizations like Diabetes Fiji are aimed at making a significant positive impact on the lives of individuals they serve.
